Inevitable #1
Sometimes the path ahead offers no choices — and that's okay. This painting is for the moments when life channels you forward and all you can do is surrender to where it leads

What intrigues me about this spot is the puzzle of branches that intersect overhead, reminding me of Shiva.
Separate branches, perhaps from separate trees, yet even now I'm not sure which branch belongs to which. Some have since been lost to bad weather — so perhaps I never will.
But the old quarry path remains unchanged. Sometimes it's a relief to have no choice at all and let it guide me.

Get in touchThe moment
I get stuck by this scene. I can't help but feel like I'm being sucked into another world.
This scene looks through the branches of sessile oaks to Llyn Peris. The zig-zagging trail, walled with slate, takes you through the quarry areas, now abandoned to be reclaimed by nature.
It was early spring but felt like winter. The sun had buggared off a week ago, the light always grey. Even so, the grey was rich in colour. Subtle hues of cyan made the warm colours of the branches so much more so, and bright green lichen melded the rock with the vegetation.
