In late winter, the birch tree buds colour the woodlands, while the contrasting flecks of gorse flowers signal spring is around the corner.

The wind persists though, just enough to roughen the water surface. It feels like a reminder to not forget that this season can return at anytime.
It took me some time to adjust to the weather here. Growing up in Australia I was not accustomed to the biting winds and damp, dark days. While I've learned to love the bad weather, days like these make me so grateful for the blue sky ones!
